As the co-owner of U2Can Care as well as the Nurse Next Door franchise in Oakville and Burlington, Emylia is deeply committed to improving community health care by focusing on patient and family education, delivering high-quality care, and implementing innovative solutions. The team of skilled nurses, care professionals, and Senior associates that surround her provide hands-on knowledge on offering patient and family education as a central pillar of nursing care in the community to improve health care outcomes such as return to work and reduced mental illness. As an 18-year entrepreneur with eight years in the health sector, Mrs. Marshall is invested in leveraging our profession's resources to meet the demands of our community.
David Marshall
Co-Owner
Mr. Marshall is a recognized expert in financial and healthcare management. He has served as a Federal Deputy Minister, Vice Chairman of CIBC, President and CEO of WSIB and Canada’s ambassador to the eastern Caribbean. He is a current Senior Fellow of the CD Howe Institute and is a senior advisor to governments and insurance companies.
Alexandra Edwards, RPN, MEPP
VP, Operations
Alexandra has a passion for bringing policy and operational discussions to life in a way that drives participation from all levels of an organization. She has held seats on advisory committees for the City of Hamilton, the City of Burlington and private for-profit organizations. She has experience with program design, evaluation and reporting. Alexandra manages client care across 2 territories for Nurse Next Door Home Care Services and works as a healthcare consultant specializing in projects related to quality improvement and capacity building for home healthcare.
Yasmine Ramoutar, RPN
Clinical Care and Patient Experience Manager
Yasmine began her studies in computer technology before transitioning to a career in nursing. Yasmine has led and supported many hospital-to-home transitions across the Halton Region. She has built relationships with service providers and taken the time to understand the larger interdisciplinary picture of our local healthcare delivery. She has over 4 years of experience as a Nurse Manager at Nurse Next Door Home Care Services, a leading private home healthcare franchise. In this role, she has been responsible for assessing client needs, conducting safety assessments of home environments, providing personalized education to clients and their support systems, and addressing essential care areas such as hygiene, mobility, nutrition, dementia care, and medication management. She has facilitated effective collaboration within multidisciplinary care teams for clients with changing needs.
